Plymouth University, the UK’s leading University of Enterprise, is to partner with innovative online crowd-funding platform, Peoplefund.it, to help back and stimulate enterprise in the South West and Nationally.
The University will work closely with the Peoplefund.it, launched by KEODigital, the award-winning makers of Fish Fight, River Cottage and energyshare, to help it support business enterprises and ideas that might just change the world.
The partnership with Plymouth University will enable students and graduates to get involved with the site, and experience start-up enterprise, learning about online and digital media communications. The University will also be lending its renowned business start-up support to fledging community projects born from the website – and sharing leading-edge knowledge and insight around funding and enterprise.
Peoplefund.it will move their base down to the South West, create new business relationships and hands-on learning opportunities with Plymouth University and its students, as well as creating an exciting new course in digital and marketing communications.
Professor Wendy Purcell, Plymouth University Vice-Chancellor said; “This is a really exciting project and an ingeniously simple yet powerful concept. The Peoplefund.it team share our values around partnership, sustainability and job creation – put simply, working together to make things happen for our community.”
“This project has already seen the creation of a new enterprise right here in the South West and who knows just how many businesses will grow from the website, the possibilities are endless.”
“We are delighted we have been able to form a partnership with Plymouth University” said Rob Love, MD of River Cottage and Director of KEO Digital. “Plymouth University is a team we feel we can do business with. We share a vision for making a positive difference to enterprise – right here, from the South West.”
