Mussel Men seek Mussel Shack!
We are the Mussel Men and since 2010 we've been bringing a taste of the seaside to the Great British public.
From a family of shellfish farmers if there's one thing we know... its the provenance of our seafood! We're passionate about promoting sustainable fishing and source the best local produce, which we believe makes our food even yummier!
We think people need to wake up to the amazing food that's on our doorstep and we are here to show just how great British seafood can be.
But we are not just about filling hungry bellies we want to keep you entertained too...
Our nautical Mussel Men challenge our customers to hourly "Mussel Offs" - arm wrestling and press up competitions. We like to think our form is pretty unbeatable, but we have come a cropper to the occasional beefy customer or two, who've walked away with a free pot of mussels and a smile on their face!
Now we reely need your kelp (luckily we are better at cooking mussels than we are at writing puns)...
Sadly Salty (our mussel shack) left us late last year for the great ocean in the sky and we are now looking to build a fantastic new wooden shack with a young group of recent graduates called Physical Pixels. We are looking to raise £7,000 to go towards the unit, which we'll make from locally sourced materials, using local craftspeople in South London.
The unit will be a purpose built mobile kitchen, and not only will we be touring the country with our Moules- Frites, we hope to be able to use it to run workshops on seafood and seafood cookery to inspire the next generation of Mussel lovers.
