'Rock Operator' closed on 4th May, having raised £1,753 from 41 donors.
Fund 'Rock Operator' and create a new live arts game to help visitors unlock the secrets of Edinburgh's great landmarks.
If we reach our WeDidThis funding goal, Rock Operator will be created from graphic images used in the short animation Rock Opera, our response to environmental education workshops delivered in the location of Arthurs Seat and Holyrood Park, Edinburgh. It will be an interactive game developed for people keen to further their awareness of the environment and have a lot of fun at the same time, captivating players and participants by integrating animated characters from 'Rock Opera' in a portable game which can be played outdoors.
As part of the game, players will experience a self-guided journey of discovery within Holyrood Park, where they can witness the physical evidence first hand, discovering for themselves the origins, and the underlying arguments that led to the foundation of geoscience…and evolution theory itself.
Enter the world of geologists and become a part of the story and world that the film uncovers. Explore deeper into this fictional land via play, adventure and performance, discover the story and uncover its mysteries for yourself as the world you inhabit and the fictional world of Rock opera become intwined and indistinguishable from one another.
There will be crows, quarrymen and a chorus of craggy rock faces singing their way through the discoveries and dilemmas confronted by our anti-hero, James Hutton, who happens to be the father of modern geology. http://www.rock-opera-movie.blogspot.com/
Bearing in mind the immense influence which gaming culture has upon peoples lives, Rock Operator is a great opportunity to integrate the capabilities of portable technology. It is another step in the evolutionary process.
