What is The Yoga Jam?
It's a fusion of club night, show and community party that has sold out across the globe.
Imagine 500 people together, covered in rave paint, wearing glowbands. The whole place is going nuts.
A live band and DJs are performing amazing live sets, accompanied by circus performers, dancers, and live graffiti artists. Vintage lighting installations create an atmosphere of fun and mischief, bar staff serve exotic mocktails, energy balls and wheatgrass shots.
That's right, no alcohol, no drugs, and no shoes. This is the Yoga Jam, a club night / show / community party that has sold out across the globe and is now coming to the Brighton Fringe Festival for the first time. Where did it come from, you ask? Here's a little history...
Yoga Jam originated in Argentina as 'Yoga Rave', an alternative party for people who wanted to have a good time without drugs and alcohol.
Simple yoga and meditation techniques (which everyone can do) were led at the beginning of the night to help party-goers to relax and feel good, ready to dance the night away.
Then a live band, together with some awesome DJs, would crank up the volume, creating a fusion of live Sanskrit (believed to increase wellbeing and happiness) with high energy club music. Live performance artists would take the show to the next level performing to the music.
It worked! Yoga Jam and Yoga Rave are now a global phenomenon! With sold out shows across the United States (including New York, Philadelphia, Boston, LA, San Fransisco), Europe (including Sweden, Bulgaria, Sweden, London), Cape Town, South America (Brasil, Argentina, Chile) and more.
All proceeds will fund our prison courses which help to rehabilitate prisoners using breathing, meditation and yoga. These courses are being taught in over 30 countries with over 150,000 prisoners reporting amazing results.
